First, let's understand what the difference is between recess fit and face fit shutters. Recess fit window shutters fit inside the window frame, while face fit shutters cover the entire window frame.
For Recess fit shutters, the right fit starts by measuring the inside width of the frame at three points: the top, middle, and bottom. Record the smallest measurement. Please note that you need to use millimetres as the unit of measurement.
Face Fit shutters are usually attached to the part of the window frame facing you. Measure the outside width of your window frame at the top, middle, and bottom and record the widest measurement. Typically, an overlap of at least 50mm on each side for a frameless window is suitable.
To measure the drop of the window for Recess fit shutters, measure the height from top to bottom inside your window frame at the left, centre, and right. Note down the smallest drop(height) measurement.
For the height of the window for Face fit shutters, measure from the top of the window frame to the bottom of the frame.
For a Frameless window for shutters, measure the height of the window glass accurately from edge to edge. Add at least 45mm to both the top and bottom measurements. This ensures that shutters will fully cover the window and allows for proper installation.
For Recess fit shutters, a minimum depth of 70mm is recommended.
